Procurement Deal for Naval-Air Assets
While primarily Navy-focused, the Defence Ministry signed a ₹5,083 crore contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for six Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Mk-III and Shtil surface-to-air vertical launch short-range missiles. This boosts joint naval air defence capabilities, with IAF involvement in helicopter upgrades. Delivery phased over 2026-2028.
