Approval for Quantum teaching facilities Across India

The Government has approved quantum teaching laboratories in 23 academic institutions across India. Quantum technology is a new, super-advanced field. It can make computers much faster, create ultra-secure communication, and build better sensors. These labs will help students and researchers learn and experiment with quantum tech right in their colleges. About 100 more colleges are being considered for similar labs. This was discussed and approved in a high-level meeting of Science Ministry secretaries, chaired by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh. The meeting also planned bigger events like National Technology Day (May 11–13, 2026) and the India International Science Festival 2026 in Pune.
