The May 2026 “historic reshuffle” will see simultaneous exits of CDS Gen Anil Chauhan, Navy Chief Adm Dinesh K. Tripathi, and DRDO Chairman (with Air Chief and Defence Secretary later in October). Government guidelines broadening CDS eligibility reflect integrated command evolution. Whispers indicate emphasis on officers with joint/theatre command experience and indigenisation focus. Replacements were expected to be signalled in April 2026.
