The Government has notified the Category-wise, Cadre-wise, and Insider/Outsider distribution of vacancies to be filled in the Indian Police Service (IPS) through the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. A total of 147 IPS vacancies have been notified across various State cadres, comprising  49 Insider, 98 Outsider vacancies. Among them 74 vacancies are earmarked for Unreserved (UR), 41 are reserved for OBC, 22 for SC and 10 for ST. 

In the AGMUT cadre 4 vacancies have been notified including 3 UR and 1 OBC. In Andhra Pradesh, 14 notified vacancies include 6 UR, 5 OBC, 2 SC and 1 ST. Assam-Meghalaya's 11 notified vacancies include 7 UR, 2 OBC and 1 each for SC & ST. Bihar's 8 notified vacancies include 5 UR and 1 each for OBC, SC and  ST. Gujarat's 2 vacancies include 1 each for OBC  and SC. 

Similarly, Jharkhand's 6 notified vacancies include 5 UR and 1 SC. Karnataka's 7 vacancies include 3 UR, 2 OBC  and 1 each for SC and ST. Kerala's 6 notified vacancies include 2 UR, 3 OBC and 1 for SC. Madhya Pradesh's 11 notified vacancies include 4 UR, 3 OBC, 3 for SC and 1 for ST. Maharashtra's 10 vacancies include 4 UR, 3 OBC, 2 SC and 1 ST. Manipur's 4 notified vacancies include 2 UR, and 1 each for SC and ST. Odisha's 6 vacancies include 2 UR, 3 OBC and 1 for ST. Punjab's 4 vacancies include 2 UR, 1 each for OBC and  SC. Sikkim's 2 notified vacancies include 1 UR and 1 OBC. Tamil Nadu's 9 vacancies include 5 UR, 2 for OBC  and 1 each for SC and ST. Tripura's 2 vacancies are for UR. Telangana's 2 vacancies include 1 UR and 1 OBC. Uttar Pradesh's 12 notified vacancies include 7 for UR, 3 OBC and 2 SC. Uttarakhand's 2 notified vacancies are for UR and W Bengal's 15 notified vacancies include 8 for UR, 5 for OBC and 1 each for SC and  ST. No vacancies have been notified for Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh.
