GVMC Commissioner urges weekly “Dry Day” (UPDATED)

Visakhapatnam: Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Gajuwaka Zonal Commissioner B R S Seshadri urged citizens to observe a “Dry Day” every Friday to prevent mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria. During awareness programmes, officials educated residents and students on anti-larval measures. The Commissioner also inspected sanitation activities, waste collection, drain desiltation, and cleanliness in commercial establishments, while promoting control of single-use plastics. He appealed for public cooperation in maintaining hygiene and supporting GVMC’s efforts to make Visakhapatnam a cleaner city under Swachh Survekshan 2025-26.
