Second transfer

I have a question here. Why was Lt Gen. Sandeep Jain given a second transfer in just three months? He was appointed GOC-in-C Southern Command and took charge on 1 April, and now on 1 July, he left Southern Command for his new post as Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS). Why only three months for a three-star officer? Three-star officers usually serve anywhere between 1-2.5 years in a C-in-C post.
