Ex-Punjab DGP, Chander Kumar Sawhney is no more (UPDATED)
Mr Chander Kumar Sawhney ( IPS - 1955 : Punjab ), retired DGP - Punjab Police and Chairman - Pepsu Roadways; recipient of Gallantry award and President’s Police medal passed away peacefully in Chandigarh on 1st November. He was the father of Rajan Sawhney ( UK) and Architect Surinder Sawhney and father in law of Dr Sumeet Jerath ( IAS : 1985 : Assam), Secretary , Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs and Sanjay Malhotra ( IAS: 1990 : Rajasthan ), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India. Cremation will take place in Chandigarh on 2nd November.
