ICS Association lives on

The last surviving ICS officer V.M.M. Nair (1942 batch) died eight months ago but the ICS Association still survives in London kept alive by grandchildren of late ICS officers. The last recruitment to ICS was in 1943, which included N.K. Mukherjee, India’s last ICS cabinet secretary, M.M. Sen, retired Secretary, Defence Production and Agha Shahi, former Foreign Minister of Pakistan. The association organises meetings and lectures open to non-members. The last lecture was by David Gilmour, the author of the book The Ruling Caste. The book explains how just a thousand officers could rule over hundreds of millions of people spread over a vast territory.
