Ganga Expressway Expansion: DMs of 12 UP districts to apprise CMO?

In a landmark infrastructure decision, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has formally approved the extension of the Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Haridwar. This strategic extension establishes continuous, direct connectivity between Prayagraj and Haridwar, uniting two major spiritual and economic hubs across state borders.

The project plan involves constructing a modern six-lane extension that will stretch approximately 100 kilometers within Uttar Pradesh. In an unprecedented cross-border effort, an additional 30-kilometer segment located in Uttarakhand will also be directly developed by the Uttar Pradesh government. At present, the foundational stretch of the Ganga Expressway traverses 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh, acting as a crucial arterial highway for trade and transit.

To guarantee efficient execution and strict administrative oversight across the entire route, the District Magistrates (DMs) from each of the 12 affected UP districts are scheduled to submit comprehensive work-done reports directly to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
