Nitin Gadkari vows action against contractors and officials for delay in Mumbai-Goa Highway
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has expressed sharp disappointment over the protracted delay in widening the Mumbai-Goa Highway, criticizing contractors for failing to deliver the project on schedule. Taking an aggressive stance against persistent underperformance, Gadkari stated that his ministry should set a benchmark record for blacklisting and debarring defaulting contractors, as well as suspending officials responsible for poor-quality work.
Gadkari further declared he would boycott the highway’s official inauguration, remarking that he felt "ashamed" by the project's prolonged lag.
