“Sands to Shores”, A memoir by Dr Vishwas Mehta, former CS of Kerala

Retired IAS officer and former Chief Secretary of Kerala, Dr Vishwas Mehta, has released his book Sands to Shores: Saga of an IAS Officer (A 40 Years Odyssey from Rajasthan to Kerala). Written over more than two years, the memoir traces his personal and professional journey from the arid, rural landscapes of Dungarpur in Rajasthan to the lush shores of Kerala.

The book captures the author’s lived experience of cultural integration and the quiet transformation of knowledge into wisdom. Drawing on his unique “outsider-insider” perspective, Dr Mehta reflects on life’s kaleidoscope and the deeper meaning of leadership that emerges when one bridges two very different worlds—his Janmabhoomi of Rajasthan and his Karmabhoomi of Kerala.

Motivated by a desire to share this forty-year odyssey and the lessons it holds, the work stands as a thoughtful chronicle of grit, belonging and public service. Sands to Shores is now available on Amazon.
