Dilemma of 75 : Shall PM Modi Step Down?
Every era in politics raises a question larger than any leader: when is the right time to step aside for a political leader? Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has spent over two decades in top leadership and more than a decade as India’s Prime Minister, is now nearing the age of 75.This moment carries added weight as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological parent of the BJP has long held an informal rule that leaders should retire from active politics at this age,a principle that has seen senior figures step aside in the past.
Now the question that lingers in the minds of every Indian, be it political enthusiasts or not is whether this milestone will mark the end of Modi's active role or will he continue to serve the nation further.
What the People Say
A survey conducted by Whispers in the Corridors asked people a simple yet powerful question to capture public opinion: “Shall PM Modi step down after 75?”.In first part of the survey respondents were asked a yes or no, and in second part to further explain their reasoning.
To find out more, read full story in the September issue of Whispers in the Corridors about Indian’s opinion and the larger debate about age, leadership, and the future of Indian politics.

September will have big changes for Karnataka’s Government ?
The political fight between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar had reached a thaw after prospective intervention by congress high command. Reports suggest that DK is taking all possible measures, including the deputation of trusted bureaucrats, so that the power transfer is effectively smooth. It is to be seen if this will result in possible change of reign in Karnataka, or Siddaramaiah will prevail, like before.
Will the French President resign?
French politics is so gridlocked that an idea once unthinkable — the resignation of President Emmanuel Macron — is now being debated openly. Yet many doubt that his departure would resolve the deeper structural problems facing the Fifth Republic.
Macron is already preparing to appoint his fifth prime minister in less than two years, as François Bayrou is expected to be forced out on Monday amid backlash over his unpopular deficit-cutting measures. But even with a new premier, it remains uncertain whether Macron’s government could push through the drastic spending cuts needed to stave off a looming debt crisis.
The alternative — calling a snap election — raises a different question: would it actually deliver a stable governing majority, or simply further entrench the stalemate?
Indian Diplomats lead by Vikram Misri have effectively denied any Indian efforts for De-dollarisation
India has clarified that de-dollarisation—reducing reliance on the U.S. dollar in global trade—is not part of its BRICS agenda. Instead of pursuing a sweeping shift away from the dollar, New Delhi favors targeted use of local currencies in trade settlements, such as the rupee in transactions with partners like the UAE.
This approach helps India safeguard its dollar reserves and preserve vital economic links, while allowing BRICS to prioritise broader avenues of cooperation.
Pakistani Diplomats with Shahbaz Sharif had inquired about the difference in accommodation between Pakistan and India
Reports suggest that Pakistani Diplomats with Shahbaz Sharif had inquired about the difference in accommodation between Pakistan and India.
The Chinese counterparts responsible had denied handing over any such information, but this was a matter of concern for Islamabad as PM Modi was offered a much better accommodation than Pakistan’s PM.
IAS Amit Prakash Yadav is a 2013 Batch Officer of the Gujarat cadre and is currently posted as Collector & DM in Kheda, Gujarat.Known for community-empowering initiatives, his dream for Kheda revolves around making animal husbandry the backbone of rural prosperity.
“My mind and heart are in animal husbandry. In Kheda, the roots of this sector are already strong, and the infrastructure is also good. If we continue to build on this strength, we can achieve even greater progress”he said.
Recognizing that a substantial number of people in the district depend on farming and drawing from the district’s historic significance in dairy sector, he noted “Amul originated here, and animal husbandry has been a significant activity in Kheda not now but since the time of Sardar Patel”.Additionally His efforts also align closely with the Prime Minister’s vision of doubling farmers income.
Building on this legacy,he is further strengthening the sector by setting up specialized animal husbandry clinics and organizing seminars for veterinary doctors. “We have converged grants from different sources, and I have personally supervised the initiatives. It is a long process, but we have laid a strong foundation for substantial change”he explained.
Yadav envisions animal husbandry not just as an economic activity, but as a means of social stability. With large chunk of families engaged in livestock rearing in Kheda,he sees the sector as having the potential to reduce migration, empower women, create a stronger support system for livestock keepers, and secure additional income for rural households.
“When men go to work in cities like Ahmedabad and Vadodara, women stay back and take care of the livestock. The aim is to reduce the costs of fodder, medicines, artificial insemination, and vaccinations, so that families can save at least ₹2,000-₹3,000 a month”he explained. “It might sound like a small amount, but it can make a real difference.”
IAS Amit Prakash Yadav is not just nurturing Kheda’s historical strength but also paving the way for a sustainable and inclusive rural economy.

What will happen in Bihar elections?
Nothing transformative is expected. The reason is that Bihar society is deeply divided on caste and religion. The so called minorities will vote strategically to try to defeat the BJP. There will be efforts to widen the caste divide between the so called backward castes and the so called forward castes. That the politicians who benefit by this divide and rule politics are corrupt to the core and have built empires out of the black money looted does not move the electorate which is willing to forgive all crimes committed by their caste. The educated are seen as weak in Bihari society. Criminals are looked up to and feared. Law and order has been conspicuous by its absence for more than thirty five years. Fears of jungle raj coming back keep the vulnerable awake at night.

Denial of information by a one liner reply The appellant had worked on deputation for three years with CONCOR and sought information about the Foreign Service Contribution (FSC) due to which payment of his gratuity had been stopped. The PIO replied that the applicant may seek the information from the concerned Railway Administration and the detailed response can be obtained by the applicant from the concerned East Central Railway. The CIC observed that the denial of information by the PIO on both the points of RTI Application in one liner without substantiating the same under any relevant exemption clause of Section 8 (1) of the RTI Act depicts that this case has been handled badly which is contrary to the spirit of the RTI Act. Observing that the PIO is expected to have applied her mind and should have facilitated relevant information as sought by the appellant by invoking Section 5(4) or Section 6(3) of the RTI Act, the CIC commented that “This reply is as bad as possible”. The CIC held that inaction on the part of then CPIO and the present CPIO is prima facie established. As the then PIO had superannuated, the CIC issued a show cause notice to the present PIO for imposing penalty. Further, the Respondent was directed to re-examine the contents of RTI Application and provide a point-wise revised updated reply against all the points. Comments It is observed that some PIO’s try to wash their hands off by giving vague or terse reply. Such casual conduct of the PIO causes unwarranted obstruction to the free flow of information and is a violation of the provisions of the RTI Act which may lead to punitive action against them.
