International Yoga Day celebrated at NLC India Ltd

NLC India Limited proudly joined the Nation in observing the International Yoga Day 2025 with enthusiastic and whole-hearted participation by its employees, stakeholders and their families across Neyveli including its Industrial Units and schools, reflecting its commitment to health, wellness, and holistic living. In line with the vision of Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi and strategic guidance of Honourable Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy as well as the Honourable Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey, to mark the completion of 10 years of the International Yoga Day, NLCIL has taken the initiative to symbolically celebrate the Yoga day with 10000 Yoga enthusiasts at Neyveli. This year marks the 11th International Day of Yoga with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”. 10,000 participants at the Bharathi Stadium, Schools, Industrial Units in Neyveli and about 1000 at NLCIL outside projects and offices performed Yoga with flexibility exercises, simple asanas, pranayama and meditation in the event held today. Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL led the celebrations by participating in the mass demonstration of Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) Yoga practice at Bharathi Stadium, Neyveli on 21st June 2025 alongside Functional Directors of NLCIL, Dr. Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines) & P&P (AC), Samir Swarup, Director (HR), M. Venkatachalam, Director (Power), Senior officials of NLCIL, Students, representatives of recognised Trade Unions, Associations, Welfare Federations and members of various cultural and Yoga organisations. Samir Swarup welcomed the gathering. Addressing the participants, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, greeted everyone on the occasion of the International Yoga Day. He proudly affirmed that around 10,000 participants performing Yoga in a single location, Neyveli Township, was the highest among all coal companies. Extolling the virtues of Yoga, he said that Yoga was not just a physical exercise but brought harmony and peace to the mind. He called upon all the employees of NLC India Limited to inculcate Yoga in their daily lives so that they could stay physically and mentally agile to achieve the target of 20 GW power generation by 2030. He also called upon all members of the NLCIL family to practice yoga for a healthy life. Later, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli planted saplings of the Asoka Tree near the Bharathi Stadium symbolising peace and harmony. The day’s celebrations were not confined to a single venue. Mass demonstrations of the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) were also performed at various Industrial Units, schools and outside projects of NLCIL.
