THDC India Limited, a premier Mini Ratna power generating enterprise, celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm at its Corporate Office in Rishikesh. The event witnessed active participation from employees and their families, reflecting the organization’s commitment to promoting holistic well-being and a healthy lifestyle. On this occasion, R K Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director, THDCIL, highlighted the growing relevance of Yoga in today’s hectic lifestyles. “An invaluable gift from our ancient Indian tradition, Yoga has evolved as one of the most powerful and trusted tools for enhancing both physical vitality and mental clarity. It provides inner strength, discipline, and resilience to navigate the challenges of modern life,” he remarked. Vishnoi encouraged all employees to make Yoga a part of their daily routine to cultivate a balanced, stress-free, and energetic lifestyle. The event was inaugurated by Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), THDCIL, with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp at the Community Centre, Corporate Office, Rishikesh along with Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical), THDCIL. In his address, Sh. Singh acknowledged the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose efforts led to Yoga gaining international prominence through the declaration of International Day of Yoga by the United Nations. “Today, Yoga has transcended borders and become a universal practice, embraced by millions across the globe for its ability to bring harmony to the body, mind, and spirit,” Sh. Singh said. He further appreciated the enthusiastic participation of THDCIL employees and their families, applauding their commitment to a healthy lifestyle and positive organizational culture. This year’s theme Yoga for One Earth, One Health” captures India’s timeless wisdom of holistic well-being, emphasizing the profound connection between individual health and the health of our planet. A key highlight of the occasion was the live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on the International Day of Yoga, which was attentively listened to by all attendees, further deepening the spirit of the celebration. The celebration of International Yoga Day at THDCIL once again reaffirmed the organization’s focus on employee welfare, work-life balance, and the promotion of India’s rich cultural heritage. The celebration included a guided Yoga session conducted by the Bharat Swabhiman Nyas group, where participants practiced various asanas, pranayama, and breathing techniques aimed at promoting flexibility, inner peace, and mental relaxation. A special Yog-Mudra Presentation by members of the THDCIL family added a graceful and culturally rich dimension to the event. During the occasion Sandeep Singhal, ED (Technical), Dr A N Tripathy, CGM (HR &A and CC), and other senior officials of THDCIL were present. International Yoga Day was celebrated with fervour at all the projects and unit offices of THDCIL.
