Appointment of interim CP in Delhi marks end of an old tradition
Senior IPS officer SBK Singh has been appointed as the new Delhi Police Commissioner. His appointment as the interim CP marks the end of Police Chiefs being appointed from outside since 2022. Singh is a 1988 batch IPS officer. His predecessor Sanjay Arora was from Tamil Nadu cadre and the Delhi Police Chief before Arora, Rakesh Asthana was from Gujarat cadre.
