Speculation of a “pre-reshuffle signal,” in Delhi

Delhi’s bureaucracy has seen frequent churn since the BJP’s February 2025 assembly election victory, ending 27 years of opposition rule and ushering in Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s government. This “post-poll realignment” has fueled whispers of ongoing tweaks to align officers with the new regime’s priorities, such as infrastructure and anti-corruption. RajeevVerma’s appointment as Chief Secretary itself—announced abruptly on September 28, 2025—has sparked speculation of a “pre-reshuffle signal,” as it coincides with the outgoing CS’s retirement and recent departmental shifts.
