THDC organises State-Level Painting Competition (UPDATED)

THDC India Limited, a premier power generation entity, organized the State-Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation for Uttarakhand at its Corporate Office in Rishikesh today. The event was held under the aegis of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India, as part of the national initiative to promote awareness on energy efficiency among school children. Sipan Kumar Garg, Chairman and Managing Director, THDC India Limited, underscored the importance of energy conservation in today’s rapidly changing climate scenario. He noted that sensitizing young minds through creative platforms plays a crucial role in shaping responsible future citizens. He also highlighted that this year’s themes, ‘One Planet, One Chance – Save Energy’ and ‘Energy Conservation: My Responsibility, Our Future’, encouraged students to articulate the message of sustainability through imaginative artwork. Appreciating the students’ efforts, he praised their “creativity, awareness, and thoughtful interpretation of energy conservation.”L P Joshi, Chief Technical Officer (CTO), THDCIL, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest congratulated the young participants and remarked that the enthusiasm demonstrated by students across Uttarakhand reflects a deep understanding of the need for energy conservation. Their artwork beautifully captures the spirit of responsibility towards the planet. He acknowledged the dedication of teachers and organizers for ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the competition. Dr. A N Tripathy,, CGM (HR-Admin & CC) in his welcome address, emphasized that such initiatives not only nurture creativity but also deepen students’ understanding of energy responsibility. He added that empowering young minds today is essential for shaping a more sustainable tomorrow.  L P Joshi, CTO (THDCIL), Dr. A N Tripathy, CGM (HR-Admin & CC) presented prizes of Rs. 50,000/-, Rs. 30,000/-, and Rs. 20,000/- to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners in both Group A (Classes 5–7) and Group B (Classes 8–10), along with 10 consolation prizes of Rs. 7,500/- each. In Group A, Master Hrituraj Kashyap (Class- 7th, Acharyakulam Haridwar) secured the 1st position, followed by Miss Pihu Rani (Class- 7th, Acharyakulam Haridwar) in 2nd place, and Master Ridam Das (Class- 6th, D.P.S., Ranipur, Haridwar) in 3rd place. In Group B, Miss Shatakshi Vatsh (Class- 8th, Acharyakulam Haridwar) won the 1st position, while Miss. Komal Rani (Class- 8th, Acharyakulam Haridwar) and Miss Isheeta Kumari (Class- 10th, D.P.S., Ranipur, Haridwar) achieved the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. All six toppers have earned the opportunity to represent Uttarakhand in the National Finals to be held in New Delhi. A K Vishwakarma, Nodal Officer (Uttarakhand) and DGM (HR), THDCIL informed that 1,90,241 students from 242 schools across Uttarakhand participated in the state-level competition, surpassing last year’s participation of 1,80,611 students and the top performers from both groups will now compete at the national level.
