GVMC holds programme on elimination of garbage vulnerable points (UPDATED)

Visakhapatnam: GVMC Public Health officials appealed to citizens to completely avoid dumping waste in open places and extend their cooperation in eliminating Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs) across the city. Recently, a special awareness programme on the elimination of Garbage Vulnerable Points was conducted at BC Colony in Ward No. 85 under the Aganampudi Zone limits of GVMC. The programme was organized by Sanitary Supervisor Amarnath in association with local residents. On this occasion, awareness was created among local residents and representatives of commercial establishments regarding the health hazards and environmental damage caused by indiscriminate dumping of waste in open areas. Citizens were advised to segregate wet and dry waste at the source level and hand it over separately to sanitation workers.

Officials stated that the complete elimination of Garbage Vulnerable Points would help create a clean and healthy environment. They appealed to citizens to cooperate in making Visakhapatnam one of the leading clean cities in the country under Swachh Survekshan 2025-26.
