Sundarraj P appointed as IG, NIA

Sundarraj P has been appointed as IG, National Investigation Agency (NIA), on deputation basis. He is a 2003 batch IPS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre. Sundarraj is credited for leading the forces in Maoist-ridden hotbed of Bastar in Chhattisgarh and ensuring the end of the violent struggle. He was posted as Inspector General of police Bastar for almost seven years supervising the anti-Naxalite operations. Besides, he was posted in the Bastar region for almost 12 years and was often the face of state police whenever critical operations against Maoists were undertaken.
