Manpower and technology are prime drivers of industrial progress: Raju Narayan Swamy (UPDATED)

Kerala’s anti-corruption crusader and firebrand officer, Raju Narayana Swamy, (KL-IAS-1991), stressed upon the need to build cutting edge organizations that are agile and responsive, capable of quickly moving to take advantage of new opportunities and remaining ahead of change. . He was addressing an august gathering at The Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD) Kozhikode Chapter.

Dr. Swamy also reminded that there are critical skill shortages and talent deficits that act as obstacles to speedy recovery of the Indian economy. According to him, manpower and technology are the prime drivers of industrial progress. Abundant manpower underlines India’s comparative advantage especially in an era where India is in a phase of unprecedented demographic change. We need to become a more vibrant, dynamic and prosperous nation, he opined.

The senior IAS officer stressed on the fact the need to shift to lifelong learning with an urge to identify new skills to master and actively seek out resources to achieve them. He was of the view that India needs to develop capabilities of our social sector to ensure efficient delivery of services with equity and social justice. The lecture ended with the famous quotation of Benjamin Franklin "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." The ending words were very clear: let us commit to fostering a culture of feedback and knowledge sharing within our teams. Mr.Shoukat Ali Eroth, President, ISTD, Kozhikode presided over the function.

Launched as the organization's 55th chapter, the ISTD regularly hosts workshops, seminars, and networking events for people capability building.
