Krishna Gupta is new State Election Commissioner, West Bengal (UPDATED)
Dr Krishna Gupta (IAS: 1991: WB) who was Additional Chief Secretary, Co-Operation department, West Bengal and retired on June 30, 2026 has been appointed as the next State Election Commissioner of West Bengal. The State Election Commission is responsible for conducting elections to panchayats and urban local bodies across the state.
