17 IPS officers shifted in W Bengal in major reshuffle

As many as 17 IPS officers have been shifted and given new postings in a major reshuffle. Devendra Prakash Singh (2002 batch), Additional Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, has been transferred and posted as IG, Intelligence Branch (IB), North Bengal. Niloo Sherpa Chakraborty (2005), IGP, SCRB, will join as IGP, WBPHIDCL.

Similarly, Shankha Shubhra Chakraborty (2006), IG, Home Guards, will be posted as IGP, SCRB. Sudheer Kumar Neelakantam (2007), IGP, STF, is shifted as Additional Commissioner of Police, Kolkata. Sukhendu Hira (2009), DIG (Security), joins as Joint Commissioner of Police (Security), Kolkata. Dr. Bholanath Pandey (2011), DIG, IB, is now Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Kolkata; Surya Pratap Yadav (2011), Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Kolkata, is posted as DIG, IB; Debarshi Dutta (2011), DIG, West Bengal Police Commissionerate, was appointed Joint Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate.

Additionally, Nima Norbu Bhutia (2013), CO, SAP, 10th Battalion, has been posted as Senior Superintendent (SS), CID. Dhritiman Sarkar (2014), SS, IB, has been transferred and posted as SS, CID, Malda. Wangden Bhutia (2015), Commanding Officer, 2nd Industrial Battalion, Siliguri, takes charge as SS, CID. Dr. Hussain Mehdi Rahman (2016), SS, IB, is now Deputy Director, SVSPA. Arish Bilal (2016), SS, CID, Malda, was posted as SS, CID; Soumyadeep Bhattacharya (2017), CO, SAP 1st Battalion, was transferred and posted as DC, Cyber-II, Kolkata. Kazi Shamsuddin Ahmed (2017), DC, Traffic, Siliguri Police Commissionerate, has been posted as DC, DD, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate. Kuntal Banerjee (2019), CO, SAP 4th Battalion, joins as DC, Barrackpore Police Commissionerate and Ms Sparsh Nilangi (2020), DC, EB, Kolkata, was posted as DC, DD, Kolkata.
