NTA Leadership Restructure: Anshuman Sharma, Sathiya S, Ravi Kumar Singh, and Prasanna Venkatesh V Appointed

Amid severe backlash and widespread public scrutiny over the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) paper leak controversy, the Union Government has restructured the core leadership of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Personnel Ministry issued an official order appointing key officials to critical administrative posts within the examination body to restore institutional integrity and operational credibility.

Anshuman Sharma, an Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officer from the 2005 batch, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the NTA for a five-year tenure. In addition to this major leadership placement, three key officials—Sathiya S, Ravi Kumar Singh, and Prasanna Venkatesh V—have been appointed as Directors within the testing agency to strengthen its administrative framework.

These strategic appointments follow continuous criticism directed at the NTA over systemic vulnerabilities, paper leaks, and logistical failures during recent competitive examinations. By deploying experienced senior bureaucrats, the Centre aims to reform examination management, overhaul internal security protocols, ensure transparent testing procedures, and rebuild public trust among millions of candidates appearing for high-stakes nationwide entrance assessments across India.
